Exactly twenty years ago, Bruges was declared European Capital of Culture. What impact did this have on the city? How did it stimulate the cultural sector? In this debate (in Dutch), moderator Mieke Dumont, the Bruges mayor of that time Patrick Moenaert, Mu.Zee director Dominique Savelkoul, Bruges slam poet Nina Everaert and event organiser and entrepreneur Wannes Loosveldt look back on 'Bruges 2002' and then together look to the future. Afterwards, recent Bruges resident and writer Dalilla Hermans will pen her birthday wishes for Bruges in an essay.
