Portrait of mothers in the African diaspora

Younger generations of black women are increasingly identifying, exploring and nurturing their special sisterhood. But there are no sisters without mothers! During this exceptional performance, Dalilla Hermans seeks out their stories in poetry, music and images. Queen (M)other presents women from Flanders’ first generation of the African-diaspora, the mothers and grandmothers of today's 'sisters', and thus gives text, image and sound to otherwise forgotten histories and hidden black stories.
