A new future for the festival
During this festival, everyone can once again enjoy our celebration of contemporary dance live! In Bruges December once again alliterates with dance! Hooray! Moreover, this year December Dance will be heading in a new direction. With innovative dance programming – unbound by geographic regions and guest curators – Concertgebouw Brugge and Cultuurcentrum Brugge will be focussing on the world around us, a world that is dramatically and drastically changing. Our choreographers are also aware of the endless succession of worrying ecological developments and (health) crises. In their creations they question the precarious position we humans now occupy on our planet and challenge our worldview. Coproductions and premieres by Flemish and international choreographers, such as Cindy Van Acker and Meg Stuart, address these core concerns in a surprising, poignant and inspiring way.
